Hey neighbors, coming up on Saturday October 9th, Cappy's Boxing Gym is putting on the Central District Boxing Revival! Garfield Community Center is hosting, doors open at 5:30, and the event starts at 6pm.

The event will kick off with special guest Pastor Pat Wright (of the Total Experience Gospel Choir) singing the national anthem at 6pm sharp! After that NW amateur boxers will square off in this USA Boxing sanctioned event!

Hey all, if you are interested in helping young women in our community, Seattle Girls' School is calling for volunteers!

Options include mentoring, after-school tutoring, teaching an elective for a 7-week block, and coaching a sport. Contact Fleur at flarsen@seattlegirlsschool.org if you are interested!

Tonight we are having another family night at Cortona - all ages are welcome! We will have a movie, games, crafts, book reading for the kids, and some more Yahtzee for the adults. Stop by anytime between 6-8pm for $3 glasses of wine and $3 kids menu items!

Alright neighbors, next up on our business card highlights are a couple services that help you manage little things that can get out of control!

• First up we have Adam Guenther at Stop Bugging Me! Pest Control, a local service that helps you control "all kinds of pests: rats, mice, ants, wasps, bees, yellow jackets, hornets, spiders, bed bugs and anything else that may be bugging you." This month at Cortona Cafe we have a beautiful series of portraits by artist Dorielle Caimi.

Dorielle recently graduated from Cornish College of the Arts, and she specializes in oil paintings, with a focus on portraiture and figure. She is a local artist and each of the pieces she is showing at Cortona represent a different period of her creative development. They are gorgeous; come check them out in person!
