If you’ve been around Cortona Cafe this summer you may have noticed some subtle additions to the cultural vibe. For two months, Cortona piloted a youth program in order to provide teens with barista training, leadership experience, and community-building opportunities. One program that the youth interns put together is called “Cortona Tuesdays.”

Cortona Tuesdays is an intimate weekly event of movie nights & spoken word, poetry and song shared by local artists and neighbors of all ages and tastes. As youth return to school and parents seek to unwind before going to work the next morning—Cortona Tuesdays offers a low-key lullaby from 7 to 9pm.

An official Cortona Tuesdays flier is forthcoming for the Fall - so stay tuned - but our first evening together will be an open mic session next Tuesday night (Sept 7th) from 7-9 pm. Hope to see you there!

In addition to Family movie night at Cortona, the Spring Street P-Patch is hosting a potluck and showing off their design for the p-patch entrance to get feedback from the neighbors! If you live in the neighborhood (the p-patch is located on 25th & Spring St), come on down anytime between 6:30-8:30pm and bring a dish to share! All are welcome. Come and support community, art, and your local p-patch!

Hey all, we wanted to let you know that we will be hosting a family movie and game night this Thursday August 26! Fun starts at 6pm. We will have:

• Happy Feet playing upstairs for the kids
• Cards and Yatzee for all to play
• $4 specials on glasses of wine for the adults
